Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Ashland

We are celebrating our 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary. We are an active organization of 120 members - involved community leaders – who gather in fellowship and fun, planning and giving service to our city, community, and the world.

Please explore our website to learn more about us. We invite you to also join us for a weekly luncheon meeting as our guest to get to know us better. There you can consider becoming a member in a club recognized as an Outstanding Large Rotary Club in District 5110.

We take pride in our partnerships and commitment to many local community projects. In the Ashland Rotary Foundation we award over $37,000 annually in scholarships to worthy Ashland High School and Southern Oregon University students.

Ashland Reads is a literacy project which celebrates reading and presents books to all first graders in the Ashland School District. We collaborate with Walker Elementary School in technology, a greenhouse, and mentoring. We sponsor an Interact Club at Ashland High School where students are volunteers in service. AHS students actively participate in RYLA-Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, an outstanding summer camp program. We support the Democracy Project of the Honors College at SOU. Our members cultivate and harvest an Ashland Rotary Garden that provides many thousands of pounds of fresh produce to the Ashland Food Bank. We sponsor and work at the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Lithia Park. We participate in holiday food drives.

Rotary International is the global focus for our work. RI consists of more than 33,000 clubs in over 200 countries allowing us further partnerships to be of service in our world.   The Rotary Foundation commemorates its centennial of 100 years sponsoring global grants. “Polio Plus” is the signature project to eradicate the disease worldwide. The world is now 99.99% polio-free. Our Rotary Club of Ashland is a true partner with the Rotary Club of Guanajuato, Mexico, providing clean water, housing, and promoting health care to our sister city. We host high school foreign exchange students providing home stays in our city and send our students overseas for similar experiences. We sponsor an International Peace Fellow studying in Thailand and a Global Scholar who will study in the United States. We are participating in a global grant: “Combating Sex Trafficking in the Philippines.”

Rotary is the place for you if you want to connect with others who believe in giving back to our community and the world. To learn more please contact Sandy Friend, our friendly and helpful Membership Chair, at sandyfriend@mind.net, or me – at barbara@patridge.com.
